UNITED FOR OUR CHILDREN: RESTORING HOPE IN NAKULABYE

In the heart of a vibrant community, a new dawn of protection has begun. Under the umbrella of Brave Movement Uganda and alongside Health Promotion and Rights Watch Uganda, we gathered in Nakulabye to tackle the urgent need to End Childhood Sexual Violence. This dialogue was a powerful stand for every child’s right to live in safety and dignity proving that change starts with a united voice.

The conversation was raw and honest. Local leaders bravely detailed the systemic difficulties they face in the area, highlighting the specific security gaps that leave children vulnerable. Moving testimonies from mothers shed light on the daily hardships of raising children in a ghetto setup where poverty and limited resources create constant worry. Yet, by voicing these struggles, the community began to break the chains of silence that have long persisted.

This gathering restored a profound sense of hope to Nakulabye. We provided a roadmap for prevention and early reporting ensuring that families no longer feel alone in their struggle. We are building a protective shield around the community, proving that when we speak up and stand united, we can create a future where every child grows up free from abuse and exploitation.
