CELEBRATING GOOD DEEDS DAY UGANDA. LET’S DO GOOD TOGETHER.

Whether it’s helping a neighbour, volunteering or simply offering a kind word or a Smile, let’s make the world a better place, one good deed at a time. Young people play a big role in driving the Good Deeds movement forward. On 17th April we joined other members of the Good Deeds Uganda Network to celebrate the National Good Deeds Day and the emphasis was on unity and inclusion.

On this day, communities came together to spread positivity, kindness and encourage togetherness. People from all walks of life, age, background and social status were all encouraged to participate. This not only strengthens the bond but also promotes a sense of belonging and shared purpose.

This event brought together students from 10 schools who participated in drama competitions. Different schools put up performances through poems, skits, songs, traditional dances and all these were centred around the theme of giving and kindness. The performances were not just entertaining but also carried powerful messages about the impact of giving on the community. Through initiatives that aim at empowering youth and engagement, for example mentorship programs and youth led projects, we are nurturing a generation of compassionate and socially responsible leaders. We encourage schools, universities and youth led organisations to actively participate in instilling the spirit of volunteerism in the youth at an early age.

By engaging in acts of service, youths are learning valuable lessons in empathy, cooperation and civic responsibility. Good deeds can be done through offering to do a voluntary work, sharing a kind word to someone in need, offering a smile or even providing food for those in need. No matter how small this act may seem to be, it has the potential to make a difference. Through our good deeds, the acts of kindness are felt far and wide and the spirit of generosity and compassion help in promoting positive change and transforming of lives. We therefore encourage everyone to be inspired by this story and join hands in making this world a kinder, compassionate and better place with one good deed at a time.

Small acts of kindness can create positivity. Remember, you’re never alone in doing good – we’re all in this together, standing firm for each other. Together, we can find a way.
