GOOD DEEDS DAY UGANDA REVIEW MEETING: REFLECTING, LEARNING AND MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER

After all the activities and energy that come with Good Deeds Day, it’s always important to pause, sit together and reflect on what really happened on the ground. On 16th April 2026, we held our Good Deeds Day Uganda Review Meeting at Civ Source Africa offices. It brought together partners, stakeholders and different changemakers who have been part of this journey. The meeting created a relaxed and open space for people to reconnect, share experiences and reflect on the impact we made during this year’s celebrations.

As people shared their stories, it became clear that Good Deeds Day is something people are beginning to live with in their communities. We looked back at the journey, the lives that were touched and the effort everyone put in to make it all work. One thing that stood out during the meeting was how intentional we were about hearing from everyone. It was an intentional moment, people spoke openly, gave honest feedback and shared what worked and what did not. These conversations are important because they help us improve and grow stronger as a movement.

Jacqueline Asiimwe shared reflections that really stayed with many of us. She reminded us that generosity is not only about money or resources but also about the mindset we carry kindness, compassion and willingness to serve. She emphasized that even small consistent acts of doing good can create real and lasting change in our communities. She also spoke about the importance of different generations working together. Seeing young people actively involved gave a lot of hope and it showed that the future of this movement is in good hands. When people from different backgrounds and age groups come together with one purpose, the impact becomes deeper and more meaningful.

We are grateful to all our partners and stakeholders who made time to attend, share and contribute. Your commitment and belief in this work continue to push this movement forward. Step by step, we are building a culture where doing good is not occasional but part of everyday life.
