Raising Teenagers Uganda Joins Rotary Clubs for a Free Medical Camp in Ngora

Raising Teenagers Uganda (RTU), a prominent organization committed to the well-being of young people, made a meaningful impact at Kapir Health Centre III in Ngora by donating reusable sanitary towels to girls in need. This gesture was part of a larger free medical camp organized in collaboration with Rotary Clubs, including RC Mbale City, RC Soroti Central, RC Sonde, RC Kibuli, and RC Butabika Royals.

The medical camp offered a wide range of essential health services, including immunization, hepatitis and COVID-19 vaccinations, dental services, sickle cell screening and awareness, HIV counselling and testing, eye clinics, family planning, general medical check-ups, cancer and TB screenings, antenatal services, and blood donation drives. Paediatric, orthopaedics, and mental health clinics were also provided to ensure comprehensive care for all.

In addition to health services, the camp offered educational and empowerment activities. A children’s reading tent and play corner provided spaces for learning and fun, while health education, financial literacy, legal aid, and entrepreneurship skills clinics empowered individuals and families to take charge of their future. To promote environmental stewardship, tree planting activities were also part of the event.

Raising Teenagers Uganda supported with training young girls on how to use reusable sanitary pads which were donated by the Rotary Club of Kampala, ensuring their menstrual health and dignity are prioritized. The collaboration with the Rotary Clubs at this free medical camp highlights the power of partnerships in uplifting communities and providing holistic support to those in need.
