In Uganda, 1 in 4 children drops out of school because they lack basic scholastic materials like books, pens, pencils and mathematical sets. This sad reality has kept many bright futures in the dark. At Kavumba Primary School, change is happening as we work to provide these essential tools, restore dignity and give every child a chance to succeed. Every book and pen we give is a symbol of hope and a key to success.
Our work is about investing in dreams and the future. We stand beside learners, encouraging them to believe that they matter and their dreams are possible. Education is a right and the greatest investment we can make. With mentorship and guidance, we help children see that their future is worth fighting for.
Beyond the books and pens lies something more powerful, a voice that tells children, “You can.” Sometimes that is all a child needs to believe in themselves. Education is freedom and opportunity. Through the #RightToBeAGirl program, we are ensuring that girls stay in school, educated girls are more likely to delay marriage, make informed choices and grow into empowered leaders in their communities.
An educated girl is an empowered girl. She can rise above harmful norms, reach her full potential and inspire others to do the same. We believe education is the strongest tool to end child marriage, break the cycle of poverty and build a future where every girl is seen, heard and celebrated. Through this program, we are protecting and preparing girls to win.
