SHAPING THE FUTURE OF CIVIL SOCIETY

The National Civil Society Convention 2025 (#CSOConventionUG2025) held on 29th–30th September 2025, brought together key stakeholders, thought leaders and changemakers to engage in critical deliberations and share insights shaping the future of civil society in Uganda.

Under the theme “The Law, The Money, The Politics,” the convention provided a timely and dynamic platform for meaningful dialogue on how civic voices can thrive, influence governance and sustain impact amid evolving national and global challenges.

We were honored to have our Team Leader, Hope Nankunda joined fellow leaders and advocates in these transformative discussions. The conversations explored the delicate balance between legal frameworks, financial sustainability and political realities, three key pillars that continue to define the strength and resilience of Uganda’s civil society sector.

This year’s convention marked the beginning of impactful conversations that will shape the direction of the sector moving forward. It underscored the importance of collaboration and collective accountability in ensuring that civil society remains a vibrant force for social transformation and inclusive development.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to NGO Forum for organizing this important gathering that amplifies voices, fosters shared learning and strengthens partnerships among organizations dedicated to the public good.

As an organization, we are proud to be part of these national conversations that not only shape Uganda’s development agenda but also reaffirm the vital role of civil society in advancing justice, accountability and inclusion.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to contributing to a stronger, more resilient civic space one where collaboration and people-centered leadership drive Uganda toward a more equitable and empowered future.
